School of Dentistry Community of Practice

This group was originally formed to support faculty with the rapid transition to online teaching necessitated by COVID-19. It has evolved beyond that initial purpose. Faculty come together once a month to share ideas and learn best practices for continuous improvement of their teaching. This group is open to course directors and any interested faculty members.

Please contact Charlene Erickson for more information.

School of Dentistry Clinical Community of Practice

This community is for all clinical faculty. We come together once a month to discuss issues, share ideas, develop strategies, and support one another in our work as clinical faculty. Full- and part-time faculty are encouraged to join our meetings which occur in the early evening after clinic.

Please contact Charlene Erickson for more information.

UM IPE Community of Practice

The IPE community of practice connects University of Michigan faculty from all campuses who share a common interest in interprofessional education and collaborative care.  We meet via Zoom to share our IPE experiences and talk about best practices and how to implement them.

Contact Diedre Jeske (dierdre@med.umich.edu) if you'd like to be added to our invitation list.

Engaged Learning Club

Prior to COVID-19, this group of faculty met monthly to learn ways to support engaged learning. Speakers from around the university and from the school of dentistry conducted interactive sessions on cutting edge topics. Members shared  what worked for them and collaborated to develop innovative teaching solutions.

If you’re interested in reestablishing this group, please contact Vidya Ramaswamy ramaswav@umich.edu
